Facebook has recently unveiled a new feature that allows the user to save for later.

You are on the move & see something interesting that you might like to save for later. The trouble is as the day progresses and you forget. Or you remember but you can’t find it because is it lost in everybody else’s timelines. Save for later is very helpful.

It works on iPhones, Android and desktops. This makes it very handy if you have something that you want to look at on a larger screen.

You can’t save:

  • Status updates
  • Photos
  • Videos but you can save links to YouTube or Vimeo videos

Getting it back

Once you use the save on Facebook feature, these items get stored under the “saved” section located under apps.
Other features allow you to sort your items and share. Facebook will also give you reminders of what you have saved.

There is talk that his feature and how people use may effect how Facebook news feed ranking algorithm for your link posts.  This means that users saving content  could have an effect on the priority of posts served up by Facebook’s news feed. Watch this space. I think this feature may become a tool used by SEO gurus to promote business pages.
